Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 July 2026
In short
Multivocab is a personal project made available for language learning. You use it at your own risk. I do not promise that it will always be available, error-free, or accurate, and I am not responsible for losses caused by relying on it except where the law says responsibility cannot be excluded.
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using Multivocab, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
Multivocab provides vocabulary cards, example sentences, pronunciation controls, spaced-repetition scheduling, and learning tests. The service is currently free and may be offered as an experimental or beta service.
We may improve, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features. If a material change affects your account, we will provide reasonable notice when practicable and allow you to export your data.
3. Accounts
- Provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
- Keep your password and backup codes confidential and notify us of suspected unauthorised use.
- Do not share, sell, automate access to, or misuse an account.
- You must be at least 16, or have valid parent or guardian authorisation where applicable.
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Settings → Data.
4. Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law, infringe another person's rights, or use the service to harm others;
- probe, bypass, disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with security or access controls except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- introduce malicious code, use automated traffic without written permission, or attempt unauthorised access;
- misrepresent affiliation with Multivocab or reuse its content as a competing dataset or service.
5. Content and intellectual property
The service, design, software, course structure, vocabulary data, examples, notes, and branding are owned by the operator or used under permission. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for private language learning while these Terms apply.
You retain rights in information you provide, such as your name and assembled test answers, and permit us to process it only as needed to operate and protect the service under the Privacy Policy.
6. Educational information
Language content can contain mistakes, regional differences, or context-dependent wording. Multivocab is a study aid, not professional translation, certification, immigration, medical, legal, safety, or emergency advice. Verify important wording with a qualified speaker or professional before relying on it.
7. Availability and beta risks
We aim to provide a useful and secure service, but uninterrupted or error-free availability is not promised. Beta features may change, fail, or lose progress. Keep any information you need independently and use the export feature periodically.
8. Suspension and termination
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, investigate misuse, comply with law, or address a serious breach of these Terms. When appropriate, we will give notice and an opportunity to correct the issue or export data.
9. Responsibility and liability
To the extent permitted by law, Multivocab is provided without voluntary guarantees beyond those expressly stated here. The operator is not responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside reasonable control, user misuse, incompatible devices or browsers, or reliance on language content for high-risk purposes.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights or liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or personal injury where applicable. Any limitation is interpreted only as broadly as applicable law permits.
10. Governing law and disputes
Austrian law applies, excluding conflict-of-law rules, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available in their country of residence. Statutory consumer courts and rights remain unaffected.
11. Changes and severability
We may update these Terms at any time for legal, security, or service changes. Changes apply from the effective date shown on this page and do not operate retroactively. Material changes will be announced reasonably in advance when practicable. Continued use after the effective date means acceptance only to the extent permitted by law. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
